Ada Proaps Obituary

Ada Marianne (Bettini) Proaps Age 94, died peacefully August 29. She was born at Cottage Hospital, in San Rafael, August 27, 1924 to Italian immigrant parents, Emilio and Josephine (Bondio) Bettini. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ada had a younger brother, Emil, of San Rafael and he survives. She attended San Rafael High School, Class of 1943. During WWII, Ada worked at Hamilton Field, in Novato sending needed supplies to our troops. Ada married Leonard Proaps March 20, 1948 and they remained married until his death, June 8, 1989 and together they had four children, Linda Flores (Don), Leonard, Jr. (Laurel), Eric (Karen, deceased) and Lisa Proaps O'Callaghan. Ada was loved and adored by twelve grandchildren and four great-grand-children. Ada loved hats, baseball and costume jewelry. She had the gift of making people smile and laugh, so it's no surprise her favorite vacations were to Disneyland, "The Happiest Place on Earth." She will always be remembered by friends and family as a kind, generous and loving person who put everyone else first. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 5th beginning at 5:00pm with vigil service at 7:00pm. at Monte's Chapel of the Hills 330 Red Hill Avenue in San Anselmo. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am on Thursday, September 6th at Saint Raphael Catholic Church in San Rafael. Memorial donations to your favorite charity .
