Irene Marie Cimoli (nee Zinn) Passed away suddenly at her San Rafael, CA home on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Irene was born in Seattle on March 24, 1931 to Ethel and Julius Zinn. In her early teens the family moved to San Francisco. She graduated from Galileo High School and married her high school sweetheart, Gino Cimoli. Their daughters, Cheryll and Linda were born in San Francisco. The life of a baseball player's wife afforded Irene the opportunity to travel to many cities inside and outside the U.S., so daughters could watch their dad play ball. In 1961 the Cimoli family moved to Tiburon. Irene later secured her real estate license and, until her retirement, worked for Ceccotti Reality in San Rafael. Irene was a loving and attentive mother, grandmother and great grandmother, rarely missing an occasion to boast of their achievements. She embraced her "McLaughlin" heritage and could recite an Irish proverb on cue. Irene had a contagious sense of humor, a zest for living and a confident attitude which carried her through a successful life. She was not reluctant to voice her gratefulness for life's treasures, friendships and family. Her smile was captivating. Irene relished her friendships with her peers from Galileo High School, many of which lasted more than 70 years. She was always available for lively, engaging conversation and lingering lunch event or a weekend getaway. She developed a passion for golf and especially enjoyed time spent with friends and family at her favorite hideaway in Palm Desert. The world has lost a wonderful women, who left us a legacy of laughs, fond memories and love. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Gino Cimoli, her brothers, James and Jerry Graham. She is survived by her daughters Cheryll Keast (Terry) of San Anselmo, Linda Cimoli (Ron Close) of Petaluma, her brothers Rich Zinn of Vacaville and Michael Graham of Oregon, as well as three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephew. A private family interment will be held in Santa Rosa, CA. A Celebration of Friendship will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the McInnis Golf Course Reception Hall, 350 Smith Ranch Road, San Rafael, CA.
