On December 31, 2018, Lane Elton Weiss was released from the bonds of this world and ascended from his earthly life. He lived for 89 years.
Lane was born on December 4, 1929 in the Presidio, San Francisco. He was raised in Larkspur and lived all of his life in Marin County. He attended Tamalpais High School and later graduated from San Jose StateUniversity with a degree in Art.
By capitalizing on excellent sales and graphic arts skills, Lane’s business life included working for Vogue, Conde Naste and TV Guide magazines as well as a short stint for Walt Disney Studios. For the rest of his career Lane was a successful independent magazine advertising sales representative.
He was an excellent artist specializing in water color and pen and ink. He also enjoyed playing tennis for decades.
Lane is survived by his son Scott, daughter Sue and four grandchildren. May he rest in peace having joined his son Peter in Heaven.
His memorial will be held at Monte's Chapel of the Hills, 330 Red Hill Avenue, San Anselmo, CA on Wednesday, January 9th at 1 PM.
