Barbara Anne Costello

Barbara Ann Costello passed peacefully on December 18, 2022 after a long illness. Daughter of Michael and Barbara Costello, she was born in San Francisco on July 6, 1950. The family moved to San Rafael where Barbara Ann attended St. Raphael’s School and San Rafael High School. 

Barbara Ann, known to friends and family as “B.A.”, studied to become an RN at College of Marin and was a gifted and dedicated nurse. She worked in the ICU at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco and later relocated to Modesto where she was the manager of the ICU Ward at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. Barbara Ann returned to Marin and spent the last 20 years locally. 

She was a devoted mother to Stephen and was very proud of him. Barbara Ann was fun loving and adventurous. She made friends easily and loved the outdoors, dogs, singing and camping. 

She is survived by her son Stephen Ryerson of Gresham, Oregon, her five siblings: Carmel, Michael, Brian, Stephen and Monica as well as their spouses and many nieces and nephews.
