Brenton "Brent" MacKinnon

Brenton (Brent) Edward MacKinnon passed away on September 14, 2024, at the age of 81 in San Anselmo, California. Born on April 9, 1943. Brent graduated from Westchester High School before earning his Bachelors and Masters degree in linguistics from Freedonia College.

He had a passion for language, teaching linguistics in the many countries that he lived in, and teachingpoetry in Northern California. A combat veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Brent served in the Vietnam War. Brent is survived by his daughter Nova Moore, his granddaughter Ava Moore, and his grandson Chase Moore, all of whom he cherished spending time with. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nola MacKinnon and his sister, Lexie Styles. Brent's life was authentically full, as he spent his years traveling, teaching, loving and laughing. He will be missed by all who knew him and remembered for his deep connections with friends and family.
