Darrell Bernardoni
1943–2026
Darrell Bernardoni was born in San Francisco, California, in 1943. At just 17 years old, he proudly joined the military and was stationed in Germany, beginning a life marked by hard work, resilience, and service.
A true jack of all trades, Darrell worked many jobs throughout his life and was known for his strong work ethic. He enjoyed sports, cars, horses, and spending his downtime playing poker.
In 1991, he married his beloved wife, Helen. A devoted Catholic, Darrell found strength in his faith and attended Mass regularly whenever he was able.
Above all, Darrell loved his family. He was a proud father to Katrina and Peggy, a cherished father-in-law to Chris, and a loving grandfather to Mason, Aaron, Aidan, and Archer. His greatest joy was the time he spent with those he loved.
Darrell will be remembered for his strength, his kindness, and the love he shared with everyone around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 1530 Wilson Blvd, Suite 550, Arlington, VA 22209.
