Diane Tognetti Obituary

Diane Lynn Tognetti

1947-2024

Diane Lynn Tognetti passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the age of 76 surrounded by family members.

Diane was born in San Francisco on June 29 to Helen and Michael Loomis. They had two children, Nancy and Diane. They lived in San Francisco and moved to the San Rafael area when Diane was seven. She attended San Rafael High School and graduated from Terra Linda High School.

Diane met the love of her life, Tom, after graduating, the summer of 1964, they were married  in 1965, at Saint Cecilia’s Church in San Francisco. They were married for over 59 years. Together they built a wonderful life with a shared passion for collecting antiques clocks, gardening and spending time with their many beloved pets, friends and family. They spent their years together traveling to clock shows from Las Vegas to Maine to Canada. They not only created a home collection of over 1500 beautiful clocks, they enjoyed years of friendship with those in the industry. Diane and Tom opened a beautiful clock shop, Timepieces Etc. in Larkspur Landing in 1976 and Diane ran the shop for 15 years.

Diane was a talented gardener and enjoyed her free time creating a garden oasis on the acre of land surrounding their home, including a beautiful rose garden with over 100 rose bushes. Together she and Tom built 3 beautiful Koi ponds. She was creatively talented in every aspect of her life, from the beautiful home interior she designed for her and Tom, to the breathtaking and whimsical window displays and 8-10 Christmas trees she designed for their numerous hardware stores each year.  She spent endless hours on the 5 showcase Christmas trees and extensive Christmas Village that graced their home every holiday season. And no one, could wrap a gift as beautifully as Diane, the bows were legendary. She was a natural in making everything around her beautiful. Diane was also a fabulous cook and hostess, she loved to entertain with friends and family. Her lasagna that she made every Christmas was decadent.

Diane leaves behind her loving husband Tom, her sister Nancy, (Bob Thompson), brothers and sister-in-laws, Dan Tognetti (Brenda), Bob Tognetti (Wendy), Cris Kerr (Ken) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Diane’s memorial will take place at Monte’s Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo on Friday, June 28th at 11:00 am.
