James Pitkow

James “Jim” Pitkow, 56, died suddenly at home on July 14th, 2026, in Tiburon, California. Our family is deeply saddened by his loss.

He leaves behind his brothers Dan and Marty, Marty’s wife Adria along with aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.  Jim will be greatly missed as his life touched many people.  He is predeceased by his parents, Anne S (Layton) of Villanova, and Martin B Sr. of Philadelphia.

At the time of his passing, he served as Chief Technical Officer of Thorn, a nonprofit organization that builds technology to defend children from sexual abuse, to which he was deeply devoted.
 
Family and Friends are organizing a Celebration of Life to be held in San Francisco in September; arrangements will follow. Donations to Thorn in Jim's memory are welcome at Remembering Jim
