Jennie Pomilia Saribalis

Jennie Pomilia Saribalis, a longtime resident of San Rafael, California, passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by the love of her family.

Jennie was born on February 22, 1955, in San Francisco, California, to Rose and Joseph Pomilia. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her three siblings, Peter, Josephine, and Rose. A graduate of Mercy High School, Jennie moved to Marin County in 1977. Shortly after, on January 28, 1978, Jennie and George were married and began building their life together in San Rafael.

Jennie was the beloved wife of George Saribalis for 48 years. Together, they cultivated a strong and loving family. She was a devoted mother to Joe, George (Trine), Nick (Candace), Chris, and Jim (Veronica), and a proud, adoring grandmother to Kamilla, Emma, George, Sofia, Nicolet, and Ivy. She also emjoyed having 2 neices and 3 nephews. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A gifted cook, Jennie believed deeply in the importance of family dinners. Her Sunday night meals were a cornerstone of family life, where everyone was welcomed around the table for gatherings filled with laughter, conversation, and love.

Jennie dedicated 38 years to the Dixie (Miller) Creek School District in San Rafael as a school bus driver. In that role, she became a beloved and trusted presence in the community, safely transporting generations of children and greeting each day with warmth, kindness, and a friendly smile.

Jennie will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strong work ethic, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she held so close to her heart.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 27 at 2pm at St. Hilary Church in Tiburon. In lieu of flowers, family requests you consider a donation to the San Francisco Firefighter's Cancer Prevention Foundation.
