Jerry Lewis Sandy (7/24/1950 - 3/9/2026)
It is with great love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Lewis Sandy, 75, on March 9, 2026 in San Anselmo, California.
He was born in San Francisco, California on July 24, 1950 to William and Frances (Fay) Sandy. Jerry grew up in San Franciso and attended Lowell High School and San Jose State University. Jerry lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and impactful service to his community. He will be remembered as a devoted father, a loving husband, a dear brother and uncle, and a cherished friend and colleague. He was fiercely passionate and deeply devoted to his long and distinguished career as “Spartacus,” TV Director for 45 years at KGO ABC Channel 7, serving his city with conviction and no thoughts of ever retiring. He won two Emmys in 1995-1996 for Director of the News Feature “Unlucky 13” and in 1989-1990 for Director of the Documentary “Monterey Bay Aquarium.” Alongside his noteworthy work in broadcasting, Jerry also brought his directing expertise to freelance partnerships with large technology companies that took him across the country, elevating the work within the industry he loved.
He enjoyed bike riding, completing a ride from Mexico to Canada in his youth, gourmet dining, and raising service dogs for Canine Companions with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Beverlee; daughters Jordana and Natasha; brother, Steve; sister, Lynn; nephews, Zac, Brandon, Nathan. Jerry will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the many hearts of those who loved him.
