Lewis Champion passed away peacefully on September 4th in San Anselmo, at the age of 97. He was the devoted husband of Evie Champion for 63 years before her passing in 2010. He was the loving father of Judy Champion, Sally Psaila, and Cindy Champion. He was affectionately known as "Papa" to 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Lew's many passions centered around giving of himself to help others and serving his community. Born and raised on a farm in Chipley, Georgia, as the youngest of 10 children, Lew
developed a lifelong love for the land and farming. Lew and Evie found their "mini farm" home in San Anselmo, where Lew could live out his farming dream alongside a 30-year career at Pacific Bell in San Francisco. Lew's hobbies and interests included church, Boy Scouts, square dancing, and travel. He was
an active member of various Masonic Lodges and he served as Master Mason of Marin Lodge#191. Lew's life was a story of determination, generosity, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
