Margaret "Peggy" Katherine Childs

Margaret "Peggy" Katherine Childs, of San Anselmo, California, passed
away on August 03, 2021 at the age of 87. Peggy was born in San
Francisco on June 14th 1934 to the late John Christopher and Gertrude
Iris (Dooling) Maher. She grew up in San Francisco and later moved to
London for 7 years and then to San Anselmo with her husband, Gene
Childs, of 56 years.

She started her career as a psychiatric nurse at Langley Porter
Neuropsychiatric Institute and then later worked on the chemical
dependency unit at Ross General Hospital.  She was then in private
practice for over 30 years supporting people in their recovery.   She
was a volunteer at Marin Suicide Prevention and a parishioner at St.
Patrick's Church in Larkspur, California.

Peggy is survived by her husband Gene Childs, her brother Gene Maher,
daughters Caroline Bonham and Katy Childs and sons Kevin Childs and
Dan Lynch and granddaughters Delilah Chavez, Abby Childs, and Soriah
Chavez and grandsons Patricio Chavez and Jack Childs.


She was preceded in death by her mother Gertrude Iris Dooling: her
father,  John Christopher Maher and brother, John Christopher Maher
II.
