Patrick J. Gallagher, born March 14, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 88. A proud graduate of Brooklyn College, Patrick served as a U.S. Navy aviator from 1959 to 1963, attaining the rank of lieutenant, became carrier-trained, and flew two tours of duty from the USS Coral Sea. After his service, Patrick's passion for aviation carried him into a distinguished career with Pan American Airlines, becoming a Captain and flying 707 and 747 jets on international routes until his retirement. A long-time resident of Kentfield, California, he is survived by his loving second wife, Diane Gallagher, his sons with his first wife, Lucille (deceased), David Gallagher, Brian Gallagher, and Colin Gallagher; step-daughters, Stacy Spaniolo and Kristan Spaniolo-Ellis; niece, Mary Dignam, and nine grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Michael and Jennie Gallagher, Patrick was predeceased by his siblings Eileen Kearney, John Gallagher, and Nancy Gallagher. Patrick's commitment to education and love for aviation marked his life's journey. A memorial mass and reception will be held in January.
