Robert "Bob" Thomas Reed

January 1, 1946 - November 19, 2025

Robert “Bob” Thomas Reed, 79, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on November 19th, 2025. A third-generation San Franciscan and more than 50-year resident of Mill Valley, Bob lived a life rooted deeply in community, family and connection. 

Born in San Francisco on January 1st, 1946, Bob attended St. Agnes Grammar School, St. Ignatius High School and St. Mary’s College. He spent his career in the brokerage field in San Francisco and Marin before retiring to enjoy more time at his beloved cabin in Occidental. An avid golfer, he organized many tournaments at Northwood Golf Club, creating memories with family and lifelong friends. 

Bob had a gift for bringing a smile wherever he went– whether through his quick wit, his storytelling, his piano playing or the simple pleasure of sharing his home-grown tomatoes with neighbors and friends. His kindness, humor, and generosity will be greatly missed.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife Gail; his son, Ross; his daughters Michelle (Drew) and Laura (Parker); and his six grandchildren–Chloe, Lilianna, Ryland, Kade, Griffin and Bennett. He is preceded in death by his parents Norman and Betty Reed and his brother Toby. Bob is survived by his brother Teddy and sisters Linda and Connie (Bill). 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
