THOMAS (TK) KREBS
(08/22/1940 - 10/04/2023)
After a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s, Tom Krebs has finally found peace. A man who devoted his life to helping others achieve sobriety, Tom never lost his faith, his spirit, or his sense of humor. He may be gone, but Tom’s generosity, words of wisdom and unrelenting kindness will live on in our hearts.
Tom’s life was a testament to hardship and hope, pain and perseverance. Born in 1940 in San Francisco’s Hunter’s Point, Tom later joined the Navy, serving on the Kitty Hawk Supercarrier. Although Tom later made a living working at Bayside Electric and retiring from Independent Electric, his true vocation would be helping others find sobriety. Tom (also known as TK) was a familiar presence at Marin County meetings. Tom was a masterful storyteller. But more importantly, he was a patient listener. He always had a pot of coffee ready for anyone who showed up at his door. He’s celebrated 47 years of sobriety.
Tom will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Judy Garland Krebs. Whether on the bocce ball court, or wowing the crowd with inventive Halloween costumes, Tom and Judy never missed the chance to make each other laugh or feel loved. Tom is also survived by his brother Richard, his children Shirley and Robert, and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Sue, and hundreds of friends in the 12 Step community.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 2 pm, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 14 Lagunitas Road, Ross, California
