William Augustus Sanchez Jr

William Augustus ‘Bill’ Sanchez of Richmond, CA was called home on September 10, 2023. Born in Huntington Park, California, on July 14, 1932, to William Augustus Sanchez, Sr. and Emma Aunda Zavala. Bill served in the US Navy as Hospital Corpsman and accomplished a Master of Education degree from University of Minnesota and Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from CSU, Hayward. Bill served as an educator for 13 years, 2 years as a District Superintendent (Moorpark). In 1989 changed career as a Human Resources Manager for 32 years until the time of illness. Bill also served as President of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Raphael Conference for 6 years. Bill is a dedicated husband and father, charismatic and funny. Music, visual arts and poems were part of his daily life. He will look at clouds and tell you the image he sees.   Bill is survived by his wife of 28 years, Josephine ‘Gigi’; mother-in-law Thelma Claridades; daughter Peggy (Tom) Houle; sons Michael (Melita) Sanchez and Nicholas (Kellie) Sanchez; sisters Kylene Kron, Sondra Davis, and Carol Johnston and grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brother James Ronald Sanchez, sons Jamie Chez and Mark Sanchez.  Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Monte's Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo, CA.   The Mass of Christian Burial Service is 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, San Rafael, CA.  The Final Resting Place is Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
