Wilma May Cliff passed peacefully on May 20, 2024. Born in Spokane, WA and graduated from the University of Washington with a teaching degree in art. She married Edmund Vail Cliff, a naval officer, and after the war moved with him to Argentina and Lima, Peru before making their permanent home in the Dominican area of San Rafael, CA.
At 67 years old, she refocused her life on her art and was accepted at the San Francisco Art Institute receiving her Masters in Painting. She had several successful shows and a documentary made about her life. Her paintings are included in private collections. Her large-scale art was an emotional response to human consciousness and global influences.
She is survived by two daughters, Vailita Cliff Kramer, Christina Cliff, three grandchildren and a step granddaughter. Her website www.wilmacliff.com showcases her art. Her "Celebration of Life" memorial will be held at the Dominican Sisters 'Gathering Room" on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:00AM.
